What’s the price of BYU’s fatter bottom line?
So BYU's TV deal grew (some are reporting it grew a lot) and to make room for it, the Mountain West loses what was practically assured BCS autobid. And the WAC suddenly looks like it will not have enough teams even to continue to be a 1A conference.
That BYU can make more money (for itself only) in this new setup is not a bad thing. But the price that two other conferences have to pay for all of that money is steep indeed. The Cougars ought to be roundly condemned for this kind of move; ESPN too, for midwiving the deal that basically kills the MWC and WAC.
I guess there's no B, Y, or U in the word team.
Memo to Gary Patterson: hang a hundred on these creeps when they roll into town on October 16.

What is the reported money for BYU? Why should BYU be looking out for other schools before it looks out for itself? If TCU could make this move themselves they would. BYU had to do something to counter the move that Utah made. This is the CFB coldwar. Posturing and positioning. Utah is probably set now, but teams like BYU, TCU, UH, ect are still trying to make sure they are going to be OK when someone actually presses the red button on conference realignment in 3-5 years. From what I’ve read about proposed facility upgrades, those 3 teams are doing a pretty good job so far.

Wimple
I think it’s time for TCU to move itself in to the Big 12. It is a good move for both conferences. The Big 12 needs teams, and TCU is a quality program.

Do you think TCU hasn’t tried?
I wonder if Dan Beebe even picks up the phone when he sees it’s Chris Del Conte on the line…
… I doubt it.
