A MEMORABLE DAY
Preston Morrison etched his name in the history books on Saturday when he tossed a one-hit shutout against San Diego State. After hitting a batter in the third inning, Morrison retired 20 straight batters until a runner reached on an error with one out in the ninth. All told, Morrison allowed just three total base runners.
The one-hitter is the first since Kyle Winkler and Erik Miller combined to one hit Kansas on Feb. 19, 2011. It is the first solo one-hitter since Derek Lee tossed a seven-inning one-hitter against Baylor on April 6, 1996. The last nine-inning one-hitter thrown by a one person came back on March 11, 1986 when Dwayne Williams one-hit Oklahoma City. It was the 17th one-hitter in school history.

OH WHAT A RIDE
The Frogs seven-year tenure in the Mountain West came to a close this past weekend as TCU played its final regular season series against a league opponent. Since joining the league, the Frogs are 128-22 (.853) in conference play.
They have played 53 series over the course of the seven seasons and own a 48-5 record in those series. TCU has been the model of consistency with a 64-16 record at home, a 61-16 record on the road and a 3-0 mark at a neutral site. The Frogs have the most wins against UNLV (25) and the fewest wins against San Diego State (18). The Aztecs have handed the Frogs the most losses (10), while Falcons have defeated TCU the fewest number of times (2).
Along the way, the Horned Frogs have claimed seven regular season titles and four conference tournament trophies.

MOUND DOMINATION
The TCU pitching staff has allowed more than five runs in a game twice since April 5, a span of 25 games.
On the season, the Horned Frog pitching staff has allowed five or less runs in 42 games. Even more impressive is that in 26 games, the Frogs have allowed two or less runs.
The bullpen has held opponents scoreless in 24 of 49 games and hasn't allowed an earned run in 30 of 51 games.

UNTOUCHABLE
Freshman left-hander Brandon Finnegan has been in a grove over the last seven weeks. He was pulled from a March 25 start at New Mexico after giving up six runs in 1 1/3 innings. Since then, Finnegan hasn't allowed a single run. He is 3-0 in 11 appearances, including a pair of starts. In 25 innings pitched, Finnegan has allowed 13 hits, only two that went for extra bases, walked 12 and fanned 23. Opponents are hitting just .151 against him.
His best outing came in Norman as he held Oklahoma hitless until the eighth inning. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out seven.

HEATING UP Derek Odell has put together an 11- game hitting streak dating back to May 1 against Oklahoma. His streak is the longest on the team so far this season. The hot streak began in a relief appearance against Oklahoma on May 1. He went 2-for-2 in the game, including driving in the game-winning run. Over the course of the 11 games, Odell has hit .447 (17-for-38) with seven RBIs. He has seen his average raise 80 points (.174-.254) over the course of the hitting streak. The streak features five multiple hit contests.

TWIN KILLING
The Horned Frogs rank ninth nationally with an average of 1.08 double plays turned per game. On the season, the Frogs have turned 56 double plays, 42 of which have been of the ground ball variety. TCU demonstrated its ability to turn two on Saturday when it turned a school-record five double plays. The previous record of four had been accomplished seven other times, most recently in 2008.

DID YOU KNOW
TCU has seen 15 players make their collegiate debuts this season. The Horned Frogs have played 32 extra-inning games under head coach Jim Schlossnagle. TCU is 10-7 in those contests.
The Frogs have scored 122 runs this season with two outs. Jason Coats leads the team with 19 two-out RBIs.
Brance Rivera, Josh Elander and Jason Coats hit back-to-back home runs at Air Force. It's the first time that has happened at TCU since March 28, 2010 against the Falcons.
TCU's 1-0 win over Oklahoma was the first 1-0 win for the Horned Frogs since March 25, 2008 against TAMU-Corpus Christi.
