TCU took part in their first media day as part of the Big 12 today and of course Angry Trey was on the scene for FrogsOwar. Coach Patterson along with Casey Pachall, Stansly Maponga, Ross Forrest, and Blaize Foltz were in attendance. I was able to catch up with Casey, Stansly, and Ross Forrest, check out the exclusive interviews below.
Some other notable quotes:
- OU QB Landry Jones on TCU and West Virginia joining the conference: "It’s going to be interesting. I’ve never played TCU or West Virginia so Im excited about those two teams coming into our conference."
- KSU QB Collin Klein on playing TCU: "They are a great team. Have had amazing success in years past. We just have to become the best we can possibly be. I don’t think we play them until down the road a little ways so we have some things to take care of before we worry about them."
- TCU QB Casey Pachall on the offseason loss of four TCU players due to a drug bust: "That was something that was pretty devastating. It hurt us as a team and as a school. That was something we knew we had to get over. It took us a little bit, but we had no choice but to get over it. You can’t just sulk and dwell on it. We pulled together and said we needed to get over it so we can move on and worry about this upcoming season."
- TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson on being in the Big 12: "This will be my sixth conference in fifteen years. What I know about changing is, is that you have to go back to the beginning and keep your head down and develop the best football team you can possibly have to give yourself a chance. If you don’t do that, you don’t have a chance."
In other news, the announcement of a new LB coach at TCU should be coming any day now. Also, I spoke with Jeremy Clark of HornedFrogBlitz.com and he had nothing but great things to say about this freshman class. Don’t be surprised if some of them earn a decent amount of playing time.
That is all I have for now.
