Three first inning runs were all TCU needed to get a win over Oklahoma State Friday night in Stillwater. Dylan Fitzgerald and Boomer White got things going for TCU in the first, plus an Oklahoma State error, pushed the lead to three and it was all TCU needed.
Brandon Finnegan added another gem to his resume, improving to 5-2. In seven innings, the Fort Worth native fanned eight, gave up one run on five hits, and walked three.
Riley Ferrell, proving to be a nice one-two punch with Finnegan, got his fourth save and struck out four in two innings.
Oklahoma State made some noise in the fourth, but thanks to the always brilliant defense of Keaton Jones, the Frogs were able to end the inning after Jones turned a tough slow-roller into a double play.
The Frogs, now 15-10 (2-2 in the Big 12), continue the series today at 3pm. Preston Morrison looks to rebound from last Saturday and will get his seventh start this afternoon.
