The TCU baseball team made history on Saturday as they completed the doubleheader sweep with a 3-1 victory over West Virginia. The three-game conference sweep is TCU's first-ever as members of the Big 12.
TCU opened the doors of Amon G. Carter stadium on Saturday for fans to watch the combination of team practice and scrimmage.
But Bowlsby was far from light-headed Sunday, as he sat in front of the media at the NCAA’s annual Final Four news conference. Joined by other members of the association’s steering committee — Nathan Hatch of Wake Forest; Michael Drake, soon to be president of Ohio State; Kirk Schulz of Kansas State; and Rita Cheng of Illinois-Carbondale — Bowlsby was there presumably to bolster the flanks of often-attacked NCAA president Mark Emmert.
TCU won the Rose Bowl to close its 2010 season. West Virginia capped its 2011 campaign with an Orange Bowl rout and landed in the preseason top 10 for its inaugural Big 12 season.
