Frog Defense Three-peats

TCU fielded the stingiest defense in the nation this season, for the third consecutive season.

Since the NCAA has been keeping statistics (I don’t know how long that is, but the last eleven seasons are available for easy perusal at the NCAA’s website) no team has managed this feat. Also a record, 2010’s defensive top rank is the Horned Frogs’ fifth, more than any other team in history.

A key cog in this three-year span atop the rankings is free safety Tejay Johnson, an All-American soon to don an NFL jersey. Johnson helped the other defensemen line up correctly. Gary Patterson has frequently said that his team plays better with Johnson. Replacing the senior's communication in the secondary will be one of the team's top priorities this offseason.
