Analytical Bulletpoints
- TCU's total of seven points on offense was their worst performance since Dennis Franchione was coach (2001 Pigskin Classic at Nebraska).
- TCU led 14-0 before allowing 36 unanswered points.
- Elisha Olabode recorded his second career touchdown on a 11 Interception of Cowboy quarterback Wes Lunt.
- TCU allowed a season high in total yards to the Cowboys (471), the majority of which came in the second half when TCU's defense sacrificed fundamentals to try and strip the ball. Forcing a fumble would have been the only way to jumpstart the awful offense.
- Despite the awful offense, freshman receiver Ladarius Brown had a great game, making 7 catches (several of which were awesome) and scoring TCU's only offensive touchdown.
- Oklahoma State star RB Joseph Randle did go over 100 yards, but needed a season high carry total to do it, carrying the ball 32 times.
- The game wasn't lost in the first quarter, but it could have been won by the Frogs had the offense not laid an absolute egg. TCU had two possessions that started in Oklahoma State territory after a the cowboys shanked a punt and fumbled TCU's kickoff after the Olabode INT TD. Those possessions resulted in -2 yards and 6 yards of offense. Had TCU not wasted those great opportunities, and led 28-3 or 24-3 after the first quarter the defense would have likely been able to sit on the Cowboys the rest of the game.
