TCU's official entry to the Big 12 is only a month away now, and though the Big 12 has always seemed like the promised land to TCU fans the Mountain West years have been good to the Frogs. So every day until the Big 12 becomes official Frogs O' War will be counting down its staff's top ten TCU sports moments in our Mountain West tenure. Today is #: TCU Goes To The CWS.

The 2010 season was magical for TCU. Just how magical? Let's look at some numbers:

Record: 54-14

MWC Record: 19-5 (1st)

Final Ranking: #3 (Baseball America)

Final RPI/SOS: 9/42

Regional: Beat Lamar, Arizona, Baylor @ TCU

Super Regional: Beat Texas @ Texas, two out of three.

CWS: Beat Florida State Twice, UCLA Once, knocked out of tournament by UCLA

Awards/Accolades: Johnny Bench Award Winner, National Freshman of the Year, 10 All-MWC Players, MWC Pitcher of the Year, MWC Freshman of the Year, Three All Americans.

I think it is fair to say 2010 was one of the best, if not THE best season in the history of TCU Baseball. While they fell short of the National Championship, they were able to successfully turn Omaha purple and bring TCU up to the highest level of college baseball excellence.

At this point, I have a confession to make... I wrote about 1000 words here recapping the season, big games and the critical highlights that capped off the CWS run. But I realized... None of it matters, really. All that matters is one at bat, one hit, one moment that will last for the rest of time (TCU history, and CWS history). Yes, the season was great. But at this point, I find it hard to believe that all the build up was nothing more than preparation for a once-in-a-lifetime moment, that hot summer day in Omaha, Nebraska.
