The Public Primpers' motto was "Privacy Be Darned."

From research about TCU's very early football history come this gem from a 1922 edition of The Skiff. It's a club of male students, formed to protest the girl students who pause to put on makeup in public. They called themselves the "Public Primpers," and vowed that when any of them saw a co-ed putting on her makeup in public, "he shall open his bag, produce a large comb and run it through his mustache. If he has no mustache he shall bring out a pair of military hair brushes and slick his hair. If he has no hair he shall take out a whisk broom and brush his clothes. If he has no clothes he shall bring forth a blackening brush and polish his shoes. If he has no shoes he shall produce a small tub with water, soap, and washrag and take a bath."
