TCU Linebacker Group Takes Another Hit

In an unexpected announcement today from TCU SID Mark Cohen on Twitter, TCU linebacker coach Tony Tademy has resigned from his position. The linebacker position continues to take hit after hit this offseason as Tanner Brock and Deryck Gildon are no longer on the team, and now the position coach is gone as well.

On the brightside, there looks to be a solid candidate lined up as a replacement because according to the Star-Telegram, Randy Shannon is in the lead to land the job.

Tademy’s replacement has not been announced but two sources said former Miami head coach Randy Shannon is a leading candidate.

Tademy, who has helped coach numerous TCU linebackers into the NFL, including David Hawthorne, Jason Phillips, Daryl Washington and Tank Carder, wanted to spend more time with his family and will likely take a high school assistant coaching job, several sources said. Two sources said Tademy is likely to be an assistant at Duncanville High School.
