Monday Morning Manager: July 2nd, 2012

This update will be brief, as my professional life is taking up all my time right now and I am, at this point, still on TCU sports vacation (I think I earned it!).

NOTES

- From the draft corner of TCU Baseball land, we lost two over the last week or so. Cody "Kody" Eaves signed with the Angels and will head to the rookie summer league and Kyle Von Tungeln signed with the Rockies and is headed to short season low-A. Best of luck to both.

- Andrew Cashner returned to the Padres last week for his first REAL start of 2012, and it was a good one. Cashner went 6.1 innings giving up two earned runs while striking out nine. He ended up with a no decision but overall is was an impressive outing for the righty.

- Jake Arrieta had two iffy performances last week, with one strong six inning outing vs. the Nationals and one three inning effort vs. the Indians. This week is Jake's season in a nutshell, fantastic stuff with inconsistent results. Jake has things to work on, but he will get there, I have no doubt.
