FOW Friday Picks: Week 3 (9/20-22)

Oklahoma makes me want to think they suck... But they probably don't.

Every week, FOW will get out in front of the world and pick the weeks Big 12 games as well as TCU's contest of the week. Feel free to post your predictions and thoughts below and tear apart our opinions, it would be the only sensible thing to do.

Baylor @ Louisiana-Monroe

FungoFrog: Baylor 42, Louisiana-Monroe 24- I think Baylor is good people, and I think LMOE has been playing out of their minds the last few weeks. Although it is on the road, I expect Baylor to put their foot on the gas early and ride it through the game.

Angry Trey: Baylor 30, Louisiana-Monroe 31- La-Monroe beat Arkansas and hung with Auburn. It's the Warhawks first home game of the season. The fun in Funroe isn't over though. La-Monroe will pull off another upset this weekend by beating the Bears at home and shocking the college football world once again.

Hawkeyed Frog: Baylor 31, Louisiana-Monroe, 40- The Bears struggles with Sam Houston State shouldn't be understated, and before they can exhale they get down in this game as well. Unlike last week there is no coming back, and Louisana-Monroe upends the bears in Waco.

Purple Wimple: Baylor 38, Louisiana-Monroe 28- As much as we have enjoyed watching the Warhawks take down Arky and then almost take down Auburn, I think Baylor is a better team than both of those, and that ULM is worn thin by its two overtime contests. Nick Florence is going to get flustered by the 3-3-5 that ULM runs, but Art Briles's machine will pull through late in the game.

Maryland @ West Virginia

Fungo Frog: Maryland 12, West Virginia 40- West Virginia is going to continue to prove they are the best team in the Big 12 this year with the likely Heisman Winner at the helm, Maryland has those weird uniforms still. But, West Virginia has a test coming around the corner, Texas is looming on that schedule.

Angry Trey: Maryland 17, West Virginia 56- The Mountaineer train will continue to roll this weekend as Maryland comes to town. The Terrapins are ranked 119th in passing and 102nd in rushing yards per game. They will have no way to hang with the high powered West Virginia offense. This game will be over by half.

Hawkeyed Frog: Maryland 7, West Virginia 42- Maryland's offense scares exactly no one, so West Virginia's defense remains thoroughly untested. The offense is clicking on all cylinders as West Virginia pulverizes the poor terps.

Purple Wimple: Maryland 24, West Virginia 44- Ooh, look! A BCS team! WVU hasn't seen one of these yet. So it'll be a "low" scoring game for Geno Smith & Co. But not a close one. 14 of Maryland's points come in garbage time.

Kansas @ Northern Illinois

Fungo Frog: Kansas 24, Northern Illinois 20- Kansas is improving, and this is a game they need to win, and they will. Charlie Weis is a strong offensive coach people, give him a couple recruiting classes to build that program and Kansas might just be in business.

Angry Trey: Kansas 21, Northern Illinois 17- After two tough losses in a row, Kansas will go on the road to beat Northern Illinois. I don't know why I am saying that really because I haven't seen NIU play this season, but why not? Big 12 pride right?

Hawkeyed Frog: Kansas 14, Northern Illinois 20- Kansas plays better but doesn't win on the road. It will require a sizable upset for Weis to get to three wins this season.

Purple Wimple: Kansas 23, Northern Illinois- 21 Kansas gets its best runningback and wide receiver back, and decides to score a few touchdowns this week. NIU keeps it close.

Kansas State @ Oklahoma

Fungo Frog: Kansas State 28, Oklahoma 35- I wanted to pick K-ST, I really did. But, winning on the road in college football is still the hardest thing to do and I just don't think the Sooners are as bad as they have shown. If State wins this game, they are my new favorite in the Big 12, hands down.

Angry Trey: Kansas State 31, Oklahoma 41- Last year Oklahoma throttled Kansas State by 41 points so the Wildcats will be searching for revenge. They won't get it, but it will be a close fought game with the Oklahoma defense coming up with big stops in the 4th quarter.

Hawkeyed Frog: Kansas State 45, Oklahoma 35- Kansas State wasn't great last week, but I believe in their offense a great deal more than I believe in OU's. Kansas State pounds OU on the ground and through the air as Klein has an excellent performance that moves him up the Heisman ladder.

Purple Wimple: Kansas State 18, Oklahoma 16- This is must-see TV. It'll be ugly; it'll feature a safety, missed extra points, and a lot of K-State suffocating OU with outstanding fun-da-men-tal football. Collin Klein won't win the Heisman because Geno Smith puts up raunchy stats; but Klein should be in the front of that race.

Virginia @ TCU

Fungo Frog: Virginia 12, TCU 40- I am going smash here... TCU gets up early and pounds it home. Matthew Tucker is going to go for 175 yards and two touchdowns and Casey asserts himself as the leader of this team. TCU fans immediately forget Waymon James and the Frogs are back on track.

Angry Trey: Virginia 17, TCU 38- Even though the Frogs suffered a big loss at RB this week, they still come out and pound the rock which opens up the passing game for Casey Pachall. TCU will start sluggish because of another 11 AM kickoff, but by the time the 3rd quarter comes around, the team will be hitting on all cylinders.

Hawkeyed Frog: Virginia 24, TCU 35- This game is going to be close throughout, but TCU's offense is significantly better than the Cavs defense, even without Waymon James. Tucker, like Lonta Hobbs in the past, is going to have to take the opportunity that injury afforded him and become TCU's first 1,000 yard rusher in several years.

Purple Wimple: Virginia 3, TCU 43- This game isn't close, and TCU doesn't yet realize how much it misses Waymon James
