2012 BlogPoll, Week 5: 7 teams earn first-place votes

Alabama is still the relatively comfortable king of college football. But BlogPoll voters think there may be more than a few crown princes, given the first-place votes for six other teams.

Seven teams received first place votes this week, the Frogs moved up, and the Sooners dropped. Lets take a look at week 5 of the SBNation BlogPoll after the jump.

Alabama is still your clear number 1. I don’t expect them to vacate that spot unless someone beats them down the line. What is interesting is six other teams received first place votes. Some voters feel Florida State, Oregon, Kansas State, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Florida have better wins and deserve the top spot. I think it is hard to argue against Bama at this point.

The Big 12 has five teams ranked in the BlogPoll top 25 and nine teams are receiving votes. That is pretty impressive. TCU moved up two spots this week to #15. Kansas State is the highest ranked Big 12 team at #6.

West Virginia dropped three spots while winning their game over Maryland. Apparently the voters weren’t too impressed.

Frogs O War has the lowest bias rating of any other blog…"Frogs O' War continues to be slightly more skeptical about TCU than most of the rest of the BlogPoll is, but the Frogs creeping up the rankings may be enough to keep FO'W here for the near future."
