TCU has landed its 19th recruit for the 2013 class, cornerback Cydney Calvin from Frisco Centennial high school.
Calvin visited Fort Worth over the weekend, and according to HornedFrogBlitz.com thoughrouly enjoyed his visit, where he met with several potential teammates, including All-American cornerback Jason Verrett and quarterback Trevone Boykin.
Tonight, he committed to the Horned Frogs and is the third cornerback TCU has picked up in this class, along with teammate Ranthony Texada and Arlington Bowie's Steve Wesley.
Calvin, a 6'1", 170 lb 3-star recruit, runs a 4.38 according to scout.com and looks to be another key addition to the secondary.
There's an interesting discrepancy in his 40 time as listed by a variety of recruiting sites, though, which makes some wonder how fast he actually is. Granted, based on the source of the time, it wouldn't be shocking to learn that it's a typo.
According to Scout.com, he runs a 4.38. According to Rivals, he runs a 4.48. 247 has him listed as running a 4.49 and ESPN, wait for it, has him as running a staggeringly slow 4.93. I'm going to assume that's a typo and they meant a 4.39. At least I hope they're not that off, or he's not that slow.
With ESPN being pretty consistently behind in recruiting info, it wouldn't shock me to learn that's wrong.
So congratulations to Calvin on his commitment to TCU, we're looking forward to watching you play over the next four years.
