Frogs O' War Staff Picks: Week 6

The trio of seers that make up your Frogs O' War staff converge once again to put their Big 12 picks on record.

Another Thursday night game means that the predictions get moved up this week, and this time your faithful staff have made the preparations ahead of time. We pick every Big 12 game, so make sure you check the Weekend Warzone on Sunday to see how our predictions pan out.

Texas Longhorns @ Iowa State Cyclones

HawkeyedFrog: Texas 23, Iowa State 14
This is the kind of game Iowa State wins when they're a scrappy, underrated team, but this year I have a sneaking suspicion that the Cyclones are just bad.

FungoFrog: Texas 17, Iowa State 10
Texas running a much simpler offense without David Ash tells me that they might have some problems on the road in Ames. But, at the end of the day, talent trumps all and the Longhorns pull out Big 12 win #2.

Jamie Plunkett: Texas 24, Iowa State 10
Texas beat a really bad Kansas State team, and Iowa State is just as bad, or worse. Ames is a tough place to play, but I don't think the Longhorns struggle much in this one.

Kansas State Wildcats @ Oklahoma State Cowboys

HawkeyedFrog: Oklahoma State 34, Kansas State 31
I think Kansas State rallies back from being down big early, but can't close the deal against the Cowboys on the road.

FungoFrog: Oklahoma State 52, Kansas State 21
Me thinks Oklahoma State will be out for revenge in this game. Not to mention, with the Big 12 being crazy this year, they are definitely still in it. They roll at home over the not so talented Wildcats.

Jamie Plunkett: Oklahoma State 38, Kansas State 10
The Pokes are pissed after the loss to West Virginia. Poor Wildcats.

Texas Tech Red Raiders @ Kansas Jayhawks

HawkeyedFrog: Texas Tech 45, Kansas 32
I'm not about to put the Raiders on upset watch here, but the Jayhawks played Tech tight last year and can run the ball fairly well. I think they catch Tech looking ahead, but can't do enough to keep it close down to the wire.

FungoFrog: Texas Tech 48, Kansas 17
Kansas is bad, I promise. Texas Tech is pretty good. Red Raiders roll on the road in Lawrence.

Jamie Plunkett: Texas Tech 52, Kansas 17
Tech rolls. V-necks for everyone

West Virginia Mountaineers @ Baylor Bears

HawkeyedFrog: Baylor 45, West Virginia 35
Baylor, welcome to your first test. West Virginia will run with Baylor a bit, and actually has a defense that can slow the Bears (man, would anyone have predicted that after last year's WVU/Baylor game?), but Baylor is just too much.

FungoFrog: Baylor 50, West Virginia 7
Either, A) Baylor will get exposed on Saturday or B) Baylor will show they are for real. Don't kid yourselves, West Virginia isn't great, but they do have athletes and they are coached well, two things Baylor has yet to face in 2013. Baylor wins convincingly again in my head, running away with it late.

Jamie Plunkett: Baylor 70, West Virginia 21
Baylor puts themselves at the forefront of the conference championship race with a dominating win over the Mountaineers. Lache Seastrunk buys a ticket to New York.

TCU Horned Frogs @ Oklahoma Sooners

HawkeyedFrog: Oklahoma 27, TCU 24
Usually by about this time in the week I've convinced myself that TCU will win despite all of the serious issues with the team. I'm not there yet this week, but I'm close enough to think it will be close. If there is going to be an upset in the Big 12 this week, this is the game it's most likely to happen in.

FungoFrog: Oklahoma 27, TCU 10
I think OU is the best team in the Big 12. When I imagine this game, I imagine the Tech game all over again, and then barf. The only difference here is that OU's offense is better than Tech and we will have a banged up Verrett, no Olabode and likely no Fields to help. OU wins at home, TCU fans continue to live the nightmare.

Jamie Plunkett: Oklahoma 28, TCU 20
I think the Frogs come out hot, but unfortunately, the game is four quarters and not two. OU comes back from a halftime deficit (let's say 13-7) to come storming back.
