The TCU football team's 2014 schedule has been announced with the Horned Frogs playing five home Big 12 games for the first time.

In each of its first two seasons in the Big 12, TCU had four home games and five on the road.

Ten of the Horned Frogs' 12 contests will be in state, including seven home games. TCU will leave Texas just twice, for games Nov. 1 at West Virginia and Nov. 15 at Kansas.

TCU will open the 2014 campaign with an Aug. 30 home date against Samford. The Bulldogs are coached by Pat Sullivan, who was the Horned Frogs' head coach from 1992-97.

Following an open date, TCU will host Minnesota on Sept. 13. The Horned Frogs and Golden Gophers have met just once previously, a 9-7 Minnesota win in Minneapolis in 1974. The Golden Gophers will be the first Big Ten team to play at Amon G. Carter Stadium since Northwestern in 2004.

After another open date, the Horned Frogs will close their non-conference schedule with a Sept. 27 contest at SMU.

TCU's third season in the Big 12 will open with an Oct. 4 home game against Oklahoma. After traveling to Baylor on Oct. 11, the Horned Frogs will have their first Big 12 home date with Oklahoma State on Oct. 18. When TCU joined the Big 12, it inherited Texas A&M's schedule. The Aggies owed the Cowboys an extra game in Stillwater which resulted in TCU playing at Oklahoma State in both the 2012 and 2013 campaigns.

Texas Tech will be at TCU on Oct. 25, giving the Horned Frogs three home games in their opening four Big 12 contests.

Sandwiched in between the road trips to West Virginia (Nov. 1) and Kansas (Nov. 15) is a Nov. 8 home game versus Kansas State.

For the second time in three years, TCU will play at Texas on Thanksgiving (Nov. 27). The Horned Frogs defeated the Longhorns, 20-13, in their 2012 Thanksgiving matchup in Austin.

TCU will close the regular season with a Dec. 6 home game against Iowa State.
