Frogs Get Denzel Johnson

According to reports out of HornedFrogBlitz.com, TCU has received a commitment from the safety prospect out of Gainesville, Texas.

Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE

TCU notched it's 20th commit this morning when they snagged Denzel Johnson from Gainesville, Texas.

Johnson, a 6'2" 200lb safety, is coming into TCU as an athlete, and according to HornedFrogBlitz.com could play safety, outside linebacker, wide receiver or running back.

Johnson held offers from North Texas and UTSA, but was rather under recruited other than those offers.

Frankly, I'm not sure what this signing means for Hall, Billings, or any of the other guys TCU is still waiting on, but I don't believe it has a direct impact. the fact that he's a safety first clues me in that this wasn't an offer based on the rejection of another player, but I could be wrong.

Johnson, who runs a 4.5 40, paid Fort Worth a visit this weekend, but didn't receive his offer until Monday.

Johnson has the potential to be a typical Gary Patterson sleeper pick.

Let's all give a big welcome aboard to Denzel!
