Alex Young only went four innings, but looked better while out there.
The bullpen got some good innings, including an impressive performance from Tejay Antone.
The lineup was good, with the exception of Cron and Suiter... Both seem to still be struggling a bit right now, the Frogs will need them to get things figured out soon.
It looks like Boomer White is going to DH going forward, I would rather see him as a DH instead of in the field.
Against a lefty, this is my lineup:
CF Jones(L)
DH White (R)
3B Witte (R)
2B Odell (L)
LF Hendrix (R)
1B Cron (R)
RF Fitzgerald (L)
SS Jones (R)
C Suiter (R)
Against a righty, this is my lineup:
CF Jones(L)
2B Odell (L)
3B Witte (R)
DH White (R)
RF Fitzgerald (L)
LF Hennessey (L)
1B Cron (R)
SS Jones (R)
C Suiter (R)
And yes, I will change this again before the Frogs play again.
I think Fitzgerald in right, White DHing, and Hennessey or Hendrix in left makes sense. Suiter needs to catch full time, if he can.
The problem is this: The Frogs are about to play six games against a group of opponents who bring little to the table. At the end of that run, they welcome Kansas into Fort Worth for Big 12 play. The next time TCU plays any kind of talent will be the week of March 18, when they play UTA in Arlington and OU up in Norman. We should be 12-7 when we head to Rangers Ballpark for the UTA game, if we are it means we are as good as we think. If not, we probably aren't.
They say playing cupcakes doesn't show you anything, but I think this upcoming stretch could show us a lot. Streak, or bust.
