During TCU's final year in the MWC (2011), head coach Gary Patterson saw a substantial raise in base pay from $2 million to $2.5 million, with overall compensation coming in at $3.1 million.
Though impressive, Patterson's total compensation was down from 2010 when he collected $3.5 million.
At $3.1 million, Gary Patterson would be 13th highest paid head coach in college football, just behind Bret Bielema at Arkansas ($3.2 million). The highest paid head coach in college football is currently Nick Saban at $5.48 million.
