TCU Opens Final Regular Season Homestand Tuesday

The TCU baseball team returns home Tuesday to host the final four games of the regular season. The Horned Frogs will host UT Arlington Tuesday night at 6:30.

TCU NOTABLES

• TCU took a 2-1 series victory over West Virginia this past weekend to wrap up a 4-2 road swing.
• The Horned Frogs have guaranteed themselves a spot in next week's Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City.
• In Sunday's 16-6 win over the Mountaineers, TCU had 10 extra base hits, including a season-high eight doubles.

• On the mound, the Mavericks have a 4.87 ERA and have registered two shutouts.
• The pitching staff has surrendered 24 home runs this season.
• Chad Nack leads the staff with three saves in 22 appearances.
• Defensively, the Mavericks have committed just 57 errors for a .971 fielding percentage.

SERIES NOTABLES
• The Horned Frogs and the Mavericks will be meeting for the 145th time on Tuesday.
• Tuesday is the last of three meetings between the two teams this season.
• The Frogs took a 5-4 victory over UT Arlington earlier this season in a game played at The Ballpark in Arlington in the first meeting.

DOUBLE THE FUN
In TCU's 16-6 win over West Virginia on Sunday, the Horned Frogs pounded out 10 extra base hits, eight of which were doubles. On the weekend, the Frogs racked up 13 doubles to bring their season total to 66.

Jantzen Witte doubled twice in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Mountaineers, while Boomer White and Kyle Bacak each collected a pair of doubles in the game three victory. White and Witte are tied for the team lead with 12 doubles this season.

The eight doubles fell just one shy of the school record of nine set on two previous occasions.

COMING ALIVE
Kyle Bacak has been the picture of reliability since the calendar flipped to April. The junior has started 21 games and appeared in all 23.

On March 31, an 0-for-2 day at the plate dropped his batting average to .211. Since then Bacak is hitting .286 and has raised his average to a season-high .252. He has collected five multi-hit games, including a career-high four-hit game against West Virginia on Sunday.

In addition to his prowess at the plate, defensively his game has risen to a new level. He has played flawless defense in 193 chances. Opponents are just 15-of-30 in stolen base attempts and he has allowed just four passed balls.

FREQUENT FLIERS
TCU has played nine of its last 10 games on the road. In that stretch, the Frogs went 5-4 to even their record at 5-4.

Offensively, the Frogs have really come alive with a .278 batting average. Derek Odell (.412), Boomer White (.406) andKeaton Jones (.406) have led the charge.

On the mound, the pitching staff has posted a 3.27 ERA. Alex Young is 1-0 with three saves in four appearances during the stretch.

Defensively, the Horned Frogs committed just eight errors for a .978 fielding percentage. TCU played four errorless games in that stretch.
