Horned Frogs Land Pitt Transfer Trey Zeigler

The guard averaged 4.4 points and 2 boards in 15 minutes a game for the Pitt Panthers in 2012-13.

Trent Johnston got some good news this morning as Pitt guard Trey Zeigler has announced he will transfer to TCU, according to Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com.

This is a huge pickup for the Frogs, who have seen great things happen for them during this offseason. With the class of 2013 already touting the 4-star center Karviar Shepherd, 3-star small forward Brandon Parrish and 3-star guard Michael Williams, along with Hudson Price, this incoming class looks very, very good on paper.

Zeigler struggled with Pitt last season, never seeming to quite fit into the system Panther's coach Jamie Dixon has in place. It seems that from fan reaction, Pitt folks aren't sad to see him go, but have no ill will towards the 6'5" swing guard.

Zeigler will have one year of eligibility at TCU, as he had formerly transferred to Pitt from Central Michigan.

Let's give a hearty welcome to Trey, and let's cheer for some serious added depth for the upcoming season.

Go Frogs!
