Members of the Horned Frog baseball team continue to compete across the country and the world in their respective summer leagues.

Last week, Kevin Cron launched his fourth home run of the summer and raised his RBI total to 21 for the Falmouth Commodores. Through 23 games, Cron has a .352 batting average and a team-leading eight doubles. Trey Teakell pitched 5 1/3 innings and struck out two batters in a no-decision on July 10. He has a 3-1 record with an ERA of 3.37 in five starts this summer.

During his time playing for the Santa Barbara Foresters, Keaton Jones has been a problem for opposing teams while at the plate with runners in scoring position. Jones has 10 hits and drawn 13 walks with runners in scoring position as well as leads the team with sacrifice fly outs and bunts with five in each.

The USA Collegiate National Team had two games last week vs. the Japan National Team to complete the five game series in Japan. Brandon Finnegan, Riley Ferrell and Preston Morrison joined TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle in representing the Purple and White among the world's best collegiate players.

Brandon Finnegan and Riley Ferrell both pitched in relief on July 11 in the final game of the series. Finnegan pitched 2/3 innings and picked up one strikeout, but allowed two runs. Ferrell pitched a scoreless seventh inning and struck out two in the process. Preston Morrison did not play last week.

Boomer White is striking fear into the pitchers of the Northwoods League as he and Brian Trieglaff are playing for the Green Bay Bullfrogs. White leads the team in several batting categories such as: batting average with .319, hits with 46, doubles with 10, triples with two and RBI with 27. Trieglaff appeared in three games last week and struck out four over six innings pitched. He has a 5.76 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 13 games this summer.

Jerrick Suiter made appearances at the plate and on the mound this week for the Lakeshore Chinooks. On July 11, Suiter pitched a perfect ninth inning with three strikeouts to close out the Eau Claire Express for a 7-0 win. He has nine strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings pitched. He is also batting .222 with five home runs and four doubles. Alex Young did not play last week.

Over the last week, Cody Jones has racked up a .320 batting average to raise his summer average to .296 for the Newport Gulls. In 24 games, Jones leads the team in stolen bases with 15 and walks with 17.

Travis Evans did not pitch last week for the San Luis Obispo Blues but has a 1.93 ERA with 28 strikeouts over 31 2/3 innings pitched to earn a 4-0 record, the best on the squad.

Colton Turner rattled off a .400 batting average to raise his summer total to .327 for the Southern Ohio Copperheads. In 15 games, Turner has a team-leading five doubles and 16 RBI.
