Brandon Carter (5-11, 186, Jr.) is the top returning receiver after totaling 36 catches for 590 yards and six touchdowns last season. He had back-to-back 100-yard games in wins over Kansas and Virginia while also adding a touchdown pass in the second overtime in a 39-38 victory at West Virginia.
Carter's one-handed grab and subsequent run for a 68-yard touchdown against Virginia was the Play of the Day on ESPN's SportsCenter.
Carter appears on 2013 watch lists for the Biletnikoff Award and Paul Hornung Award.
LaDarius Brown (6-4, 220, So.), Cam White (6-3, 200, Jr.) and David Porter (6-0, 197, Jr.) joined Carter in first-team positions coming out of the spring.
With his five scoring grabs on 27 receptions, Brown ranked second among freshmen nationally last season with a touchdown every 5.4 catches. His five touchdowns were third on TCU while placing fourth in both receptions (27) and yards (385). He had a season-best seven catches for 67 yards and a touchdown at Oklahoma State.
White had 21 receptions for 284 yards. Both of his scoring grabs came in a 49-21 win at Baylor.
Porter played in all 13 games at receiver and on special teams. He had two catches for 18 yards. As a true freshman in 2011, he had a 19-yard touchdown reception at Baylor on his first collegiate snap.
Matt Brown (6-1, 190, Jr.) opened last season at wide receiver before returning to his original position of quarterback. An outstanding athlete, Brown rushed for six touchdowns on just 24 carries in 2011.
Story and Doctson both sat out last season per NCAA transfer rules.
After arriving at Florida as the ESPN.com No. 6-ranked wide receiver in the nation, Story was redshirted by the Gators. Doctson totaled 35 receptions for 393 yards and five touchdowns as a true freshman for Wyoming in 2011. He had three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown against TCU.
Kolby Listenbee (6-1, 183, So.), a high school quarterback at nearby Arlington Bowie High School, saw action as a true freshman last season. His first collegiate catch was a 59-yard grab against Michigan State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
After being utilized at cornerback last season, Deante' Gray (5-10, 175, So.) was moved in the spring to wide receiver. He was ranked as the No. 13 receiver in the nation while coming out of Houston Westside High School.
Gray made an immediate impact in his TCU debut when he returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown on his first collegiate touch in the season opener against Grambling State. Gray would go on to set a TCU single-game record with 160 punt return yards.
Cameron Echols-Luper (6-0, 190, Fr.) and Ty Slanina (6-0, 182, Fr.) are a pair of true freshmen who have impressed early in camp. Echols-Luper is the son of TCU wide receivers coach Curtis Luper.
