POSITION CB
HEIGHT/WEIGHT 5'10" / 165 lbs.
HOMETOWN Frisco, Texas
HIGH SCHOOL Centennial
247 Composite Star Ranking Three Stars (***)

Not the biggest player on the field, but one who has Jason Verrett type cover ability. Texada has incredible athleticism and has run a 4.35 forty and an incredible 3.77 pro-shuttle. That's what grabbed TCU's attention initially. Texada will add depth to the cornerback position and already word has trickled out of camp from Gary Patterson that he has a chance to play this season.

-Ranthony Texada is another metroplex kid who decided to stay close to home, and the Frogs are huge beneficiaries. When it comes to cover skills, Texada is being compared to Jason Verrett, but he's faster. Texada selected TCU while holding offers from the likes of Baylor, Iowa State, Illinois, Indiana and SMU.Texada will be expected to continue the tradition of defense for TCU, and he has a chance to see the field from the first day.

-Coming out of Frisco Centennial, Texada was the #41 CB in the country according to Scout.com, and his highlight reel shows why. Check out his hudl videos and you'll be amazed. This kid can cover a ton of ground, and is incredible in coverage.

-Rumor has it that Patterson has been nothing but impressed with Texada since he stepped foot on campus, and it seems like he has the chance to be an important member of the secondary this season. It's a testament to his ability, but it also means that the Frogs have good depth at the cornerback position despite losing David Jenkins earlier this summer.
