TCU Horned Frogs @ Texas Tech Red Raiders Gamethread

The West Texas Championship game is upon us at last. We're all going to be watching, so why not join in the conversation with your fellow fans who are living and dying with every touchdown?

I love Oberkrom, but I hope he has a lot less Field Goal work tonight than last time

A nationally televised game brings a lot of stress on a team and a fanbase. If you don't look good it hurts your ranking, it hurts your prestige and it hurts your standing with recruits- nobody wants to look bad on national television.

A Thursday night game brings a lot of stress on a team and a fanbase. If you lose you've got over a week before your next game, and when you watch other games on the weekend the first score you'll see is the reminder that we played poorly on Thursday.

A rivalry game brings a lot of stress on a team and a fanbase. There's an entire year's worth of ribbing from co-workers, friends, neighbors and spouses on the line if the outcome doesn't go your way- it's even worse when so many alums of your rival school move to your school's hometown to live and work.

Tonight we face all three rolled into one, as your TCU Horned Frogs travel out to Lubbock to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the West Texas Championship game. This is the Big 12 opener for both teams, which means that the winner will have a leg up in the hunt for their first Big 12 championship while the loser will be left playing catch up and hoping for a few lucky breaks. Lubbock is a tough place to play (the Frogs have won there just once in my lifetime) but our boys won't be intimidated- this is going to be one hell of a game.

This is your gamethread for instant reaction, analysis and chatting with your fellow Frog fans. Lurk and read along, or join in the conversation- this thread is for you.

Go Frogs.
