TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin and linebacker Paul Dawson have been added to watch lists for the Maxwell Award and Chuck Bednarik Award, respectively.

The Maxwell Award is presented to the nation's top offensive player, while the Bednarik Award recognizes the top defensive player in the country.

Boykin ranks second in the Big 12 and seventh nationally in total offense at 353.6 yards per game. He is also one of just eight quarterbacks nationally to lead his team in passing yards (1,463) and rushing (305 yards).

A junior from Dallas, Boykin is on pace to set TCU single-season records for touchdown passes and yards passing. He's completed 57.7 percent of his attempts for 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Boykin directs the nation's most improved offensive unit this season. TCU's average of 510.0 yards per game ranks 15th nationally and is 165.4 per game more than last season.

Dawson tops the Big 12 and is 12th nationally with his average of 11.0 tackles per game. The senior from Dallas has had a takeaway in all five games this season. He has team-high totals of seven tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

Dawson's fourth quarter 41-yard interception return for a touchdown provided the go-ahead points in TCU's 37-33 win over Oklahoma.

With 55 tackles in just five games, Dawson is on pace for the top single-season total in Gary Patterson's 14 years as head coach.

Dawson is joined on the Bednarik Award Watch List by preseason selections and TCU teammates Sam Carter and Chucky Hunter.
