Frogs in the League: Week 5

The Horned Frogs had a huge win this weekend, and the former Frogs in the pros must have watched the game because the active players in the NFL had a combined 7-3 record this week!

Andy Dalton (QB):

This Week: The Cincinnati Bengals were the last team to lose this season with a 43-17 defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots. Dalton was 15-24 for 204 yards. He also tacked on 2 more touchdown passes.

Season Statistics: 70-108 (64.8%) for 926 yards, 8.6 yards per pass with 4 TDs and 1 INTs.

Marcus Cannon (OT):

This Week: Cannon came off the bench for the second time this season for the New England Patriots in a win over the Bengals and former teammate Andy Dalton.

Season Statistics: Cannon is 3/5 starting games this fall.

Tank Carder (LB):

This Week: Carder played a pivotal role in the Cleveland Browns comeback win this week  29-28 over the Tennessee Titans. Carder blocked a punt for a safety in the 2nd quarter. He also recorded his first tackle of the year.

Season Statistics: Carder has recorded 1 solo tackle and he blocked punt for a safety.

Clint Gresham (LS):

This Week: The Seahawks won a won tough on the road 27-17 over the Washington Redskins. Gresham continued his duties as long snapper, and he has not missed a game since being signed prior to the 2010 season.

Season Statistics: Gresham is 4/4 in starting games this season.

David Hawthorne (LB):

This Week: Hawthorne returned to the Saints in a tough win over the Tampa Bay 37-31 after sitting out 2 weeks with an ankle injury. Hawthorne picked up 6 tackles in the overtime win.

Season Statistics: Hawthorne is 3/3 starting games this season. He has recorded 23 tackles, with 13 of them being solo.

Jerry Hughes (DE):

This Week: Hughes tied his season-high 5 tackles while continuing to be a starter at defensive end for the Buffalo Bills. Hughes was a key contributor in the 17-14 win at Detroit.

Season Statistics: Hughes is 5/5 in starting games this season. He has 16 total tackles, with 10 of them being solo and 1.0 sack.

Colin Jones (S):

This Week: The second year Carolina Panther saw some action for the fifth straight week at safety in their close win over the Chicago Bears.

Jeremy Kerley (WR):

This Week: Kerley caught 3 passes for 24 yards in a shutout lose to the San Diego Chargers. Kerley continues to be a consistent receiver as he had caught 3 or more passes in six of his last 7 games.

Stansly Maponga (DE):

This Week: Newhouse came off the bench for the Bengals in their first loss of the season to the Panthers 43-17.

Jason Verrett (CB):

This Week: Verrett came back from his hamstring injury that prevented him from playing last week. Verrett was back in the starting lineup as he recorded 3 tackles and a pass break-up in the Chargers 31-0 over the Jets.

Season Statistics: Verrett is 2/4 starting games this season. He has 12 total tackles and 11 of them are solo. He also has 2 pass break-ups.

Daryl Washington (LB):

The Pro Bowl alternate from 2013 did not see any action for the second week in a row.
