From the desk of Mark Cohen:
With the Big 12 announcing TCU football’s 2015 conference schedule on Wednesday, the Horned Frogs’ full slate for next year is now finalized.
A Sept. 3 season opener at Minnesota and an Oct. 29 home date with West Virginia give TCU a pair of Thursday games. The Horned Frogs will also have a Friday, Nov. 27, home contest with Baylor to close the regular season on the day after Thanksgiving.
After traveling to Minnesota for the first time since 1974, TCU will have back-to-back home dates with Stephen F. Austin (Sept. 12) and SMU (Sept. 19) before beginning conference play.
The Horned Frogs’ Big 12 opener is Sept. 26 at Texas Tech. TCU’s first conference home game will be the following week, Oct. 3, against Texas.
TCU will have consecutive road trips to Kansas State (Oct. 10) and Iowa State (Oct. 17) before an open date prior to its Thursday, Oct. 29, home contest with the Mountaineers.
Road games at Oklahoma State (Nov. 7) and Oklahoma (Nov. 21) sandwich a Nov. 14 home contest with Kansas. The Horned Frogs’ regular season will then conclude with the Nov. 27 date against Baylor in Amon G. Carter Stadium.
After leaving the state just twice this season, and not until a Nov. 1 game at West Virginia, TCU will play outside Texas for five of its six road games in 2015.
TCU’s two open dates will be the week before the Thursday, Oct. 29, game with West Virginia and the final weekend of the regular season (Dec. 5).
