TCU hung on to the No. 5 spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings after a bye week that saw Baylor beat Oklahoma State and Ohio State struggle to put away Indiana.
Alabama held on to the No. 1 spot and Oregon is still at No. 2.
Kansas State remained at No. 12.
Baylor remained No. 7 despite beating Oklahoma State 49-28. Ohio State remained ahead of Baylor despite seriously struggling with Indiana (who beat No. 17 Missouri earlier this season). It's a testament to how highly the committee regards the win over Minnesota for both TCU and Baylor.
If the playoffs were to start today, the four teams in would be Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Mississippi State. Baylor fans are probably pretty frustrated right now, but things could change as Nos.4-7 are so close together. Things could definitely change going into the last weekend, when TCU faces a bad Iowa State team, while Baylor takes on No. 12 Kansas State.
The way things are setting up, it is conceivable that Baylor and TCU both end up getting left out. If Ohio State wins the Big 10, they could probably jump both TCU and Mississippi State. Of course, all of that can be done in the comments, so go at it, y'all.
