By the Numbers - West Virginia

Some really interesting stats came out of Saturday's win in Morgantown. We take a look at some of the best of the bunch in this week's edition of By the Numbers.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

OFFENSE:

12 - Consecutive games that receiver Josh Doctson has caught a pass in, the best members of the current team. Doctson finished with three receptions for 29 yards.

13 - The Frogs overcame 13 point deficits twice on Saturday, once at 13-0, when they scored 14 unanswered, and once at 27-14, in the third. The 13 point deficit is the largest TCU has faced all season.

13 (again) - TCU's first half point total was the lowest of the season; in the first seven games the Frogs had scored at least 24 points before the break. In 2013 TCU scored 24 total points only seven times in total.

14 - Career rushing touchdowns for TCU QB (one time running back/wide receiver) Trevone Boykin. His third quarter score was his fourth on the ground this season.

7 for 8 - Deante' Gray has seven touchdown receptions this season. Coming in to the year, he had eight career receptions.

70 and 4 - The Frog's record under Gary Patterson when rushing for 200 yards or more. TCU had 223 yards on the ground on Saturday.

DEFENSE:

-2 - Total yardage for West Virginia in the fourth quarter, after they had out-gained the Frogs 359 to 235 through the first three. TCU finished with 389 yards after a fourth quarter explosion.

3 - Total receptions that WVU's Kevin White had Saturday as TCU's Kevin White shut him down. (Our) White added a fourth quarter PBU. Further importance? WVU's White has five inches and almost 30 pounds on the Frog's White.

3 - Paul Dawson's interception total on the season. Dawson has been involved in a take away (either a pick, forced fumble, or fumble recovery) in six of the eight games he has played in this season.

4 - Safety Chris Hackett's pick total this year, which leads the team. He has interceptions in consecutive games, and added a forced fumble against WVU.

5 - Turnovers forced by the TCU D against the Mountaineers. The Frogs baited Clint Trickett in to two picks and forced three fumbles in inclement conditions in Morgantown.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

0 - Punt return yards for the Mountaineers, despite five Ethan Perry punts. Perry averaged under 40 yards per kick, but dropped four inside the 20 yards line.

2 - Total return yardage for Cameron Echols-Luper on two punt and three kick returns. Eh, not every number can be good.

3 - Final points scored by TCU kicker Jaden Oberkrom on a 37 yard field goal.

4 - Seconds remaining when the ball was snapped.

0 - Seconds remaining when the ball went through the uprights.

1 - Game winners for Oberkrom this season.
