Three years. That's how long it took for TCU to win their first Big 12 championship, an outcome that nobody really expected after a 4-8 season last year. There will be a lot of discussion and hand wringing in the next 24 hours about the playoff and such, but right now let's just savor this feeling. Trevone Boykin set new records for passing touchdowns and passing yards, throwing for 460 and four touchdowns and collecting a touchdown reception of his own. Aaron Green crushed things on the ground, racking up 104 yards and a TD on just 13 carries and picking up a 54 yard touchdown reception as well. TCU's defense did a spectacular job, holding the Cyclones to three points and less that 250 yards of total offense, and did their usual turnover forcing wizardry that included a pick 6. There's a whole lot to be happy about after that performance, and we know that, at least, it didn't hurt our chances at the Playoff.
But that's a thought for another thread. Right now, let's just enjoy this- In 1995 we didn't think we'd ever get into the Big 12 conference. In 2014 we're the Big 12 champions. I can't wait to see what the future holds next.
Go Frogs.
