TCU Flips 4-Star RB Varshaun Nixon from Texas A&M

The former Aggie commit not-so-quietly visited TCU this past weekend and enjoyed the trip enough to flip to the Horned Frogs.

It's been a rumor for several days, ever since Varshaun Nixon's visit, but today it was made official. TCU has flipped the former Texas A&M commit away from the Aggies to join the Horned Frog's 2014 class. He was the only running back recruit in Texas A&M's class.

A consensus 4-star recruit, Nixon is the No. 6 running back in the class of 2014 according to Rivals.com and held offers from Baylor, Clemson, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, TCU and SMU. He had also been hearing from Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and a few others prior to his commitment to the Aggies in November of 2012.

Nixon is the only running back recruit in this class for the Frogs, who seem deep at the RB position already with the likes of B.J. Catalon, Aaron Green, Jordan Moore, Kyle Hicks and Trevorris Johnson, but as we've seen the past few years depth can be tested in a hurry. Not to mention, Catalon, Green and Moore will all be juniors this year, so it's time (as it always is) to be looking to the future at that position.

Check out his highlights here. (IMO, if this kid is 5'9", he was playing against ants).

Go Frogs!
