Well it's not exactly how Frog fans wanted their day to start, but Braden Smith has just announced on ESPN that he'll be spending his collegiate career in Auburn, Alabama with the Auburn Tigers. Smith, a 5-star offensive guard out of Olathe, Kansas was the No. 1 offensive lineman recruit according to Scout.com, and would have been the Frogs' first-ever 5-star signee.

"The reason I chose Auburn was because of the great opportunity there. Get that opportunity to play early and the style of offense they run I think I can pick it up pretty fast," said Smith.

Smith would have been the whipped cream and cherry on top of a good 2014 class of linemen for TCU, who are expecting signed Letters of Intent from Ty Barrett, Austin Schlottman, Ryan Griswold and Trey Elliot to go along with already signed Frank Kee.

Best of luck to Braden as he finishes high school and moves on to the SEC. If any kid set the example for how to properly handle the recruiting process, it was him, keeping his feelings close to the vest, not leading anyone on, and making one commitment to one school on signing day.
