It's safe to say we're all glad the recruiting process is over for Emanuel Porter. However, now that he's signed with the Horned Frogs it makes the road getting here a little sweeter.
Porter, a 4-star wide receiver from Lincoln High School in Dallas, chose TCU over LSU and Texas. All three teams seemed to be in the lead for Porter's services even in the last week, although he was committed to the Horned Frogs.
Originally committing to TCU in August of 2012, Porter began gaining notoriety during his junior season, receiving an offer from Texas at a camp in June of 2013. He committed shortly thereafter, and seemed to be a hard commit to Texas until the coaching changes in December. At that point, TCU came back into play, along with newcomer LSU. Porter recommitted to TCU, but took a visit to LSU on the 24th of January. He was supposed to make one last trip back to Austin, but cancelled in favor of hosting LSU for an in-home visit. Gary Patterson would not be denied though, taking seven coaches with him to visit Porter this past Saturday, locking down the wide receiver for good.
Porter is one of four wide receivers expected to sign with TCU today, including Corey McBride, Ryan Parker and Desmon White.
Welcome to the family Emanuel!
Go Frogs!
