Meet the Commits: Ty Barrett

4-Star offensive lineman Ty Barrett is one of the key pickups of the 2014 class.

He was the biggest recruiter inside the class of 2014 for TCU, and he was also responsible for the collective heart attack TCU fans suffered on January 22, when he briefly decommitted.

Ty Barrett, from Dallas Skyline, is one of four 4-star signees in the 2014 class, according to Standing at 6-foot-5, and weighing in at 316 pounds, Barrett is built like a truck, and should be a guard at the college level.

Barrett, who first committed to TCU on August 3, 2013, over a final four of Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech, was one of the most outspoken Horned Frog commitments in recent memory, and was reportedly working very hard to convince fellow recruits to join him in Fort Worth for the next four years.

This, along with his twitter feed, which he constantly updated with pro-TCU content, led Frog fans to believe he was the most locked down a verbal commit could ever be.

That all changed after Barrett took a visit to Arizona State and hosted Central Florida in his home.

"I have opened my recruiting back up!! #TCU is indeed still in it but I have decommitted!" Barrett (@TyBarret) said, causing TCU fans to lose all hope and faith in the recruiting process and the words of 18 year old boys.

However, less than a week later, Barrett was back in the purple fold, and on February 5th he signed his National Letter of Intent, making him a Horned Frog officially.

Barrett will add much needed depth on the offensive line, a major point of weakness for TCU in 2013, and should, if all goes as planned, be a major contributor on the line for the next four or five years.
