TCU just can't quite escape this kind of thing, but then again, no school can.

According to Deanna Boyd of the Fort Worth Star Telegram, TCU wide receiver Brandon Carter was arrested on Tuesday night for possession of marijuana.

According to the article, which was citing a police report:

Fort Worth officers were on routine patrol in the 1600 block of Calhoun Street in downtown Fort Worth about 5:12 p.m. when they ran the license plate of a 2010 Lexus and found the car had a "warrant hit," the report states.

The officers conducted a traffic stop of the car and subsequently arrested its two occupants, Carter and 22-year-old Alexis Harris, for allegedly possessing less than two ounces of marijuana.

In addition, Harris was arrested on two outstanding warrants, the report indicates.

The report states Carter had been driving the Lexus but Harris is the car’s owner.

So, if there was any question left about whether Brandon Carter would be rejoining the team this fall, we have our answer. That's a resounding negatory.

Carter was supposed to be a major player this past season, but a lack of self-control emotionally on the football field and issues in the classroom caused him to see reduced playing time. He had not been allowed to practice all spring as he worked to get his grades up.

Carter was the most experienced receiver left on the squad, having amassed 90 receptions, 1,312 yards and nine touchdowns in three seasons, while also being one of the featured kick returners for the Frogs.

Good luck with all that stuff, Brandon. I hope you get things in order so you can graduate.
