TCU long jumper falls short in attempt to repeat NCAA outdoor title:

Defending NCAA long jump champion Lorraine Ugen of TCU came up short in her bid to repeat Wednesday at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.

TCU takes detour to check out where famous Frog’s homer landed:

"Schlossnagle wanted his players to see what remains of historic Rosenblatt Stadium, the home of the College World Series for 60 years until 2010. That, of course, is the year TCU earned its first berth and came one win shy of reaching the championship series. Former Horned Frogs Matt Curry provided one of the indelible memories that year when his grand slam completed a stunning comeback win against Florida State in an elimination game"

Transfer Fitzgerald never looked back after arriving at TCU:

"Fitzgerald almost didn’t end up at TCU. Former TCU assistant coach Tony Vitello was recruiting another player at Cypress College when Fitzgerald caught his eye. Vitello e-mailed him to express interest, but Fitzgerald was already committed to transfer to Maryland."
