Chucky Hunter made a name for himself last year, and now he's expected to make his name bigger, as he was the only Horned Frog to make the Outland Trophy Watch List when it was announced Thursday morning.
From the desk of Mark Cohen:
TCU defensive tackle Chucky Hunter has received selection to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, presented to the nation’s top interior lineman.Hunter is a two-time All-Big 12 selection. He led the TCU defensive line last season with 43 tackles, including six for loss with two sacks. In the weight room, he has a 750 squat (two reps), 520 bench (one rep) and 460 clean.A native of West Monroe, La., Hunter also appears on watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.Hunter is one of nine returning starters on defense for TCU this fall.
Hunter dominated along the line last season, and with Fields coming back and added depth on the line, he should do nothing but flourish again this season.
Hunter is the first Horned Frog to appear on three watch lists this year.
