From the desk of Matt Hoover, TCU Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Media Relations:
FORT WORTH, Texas - A full slate of 18 television appearances highlight the Big 12 portion of TCU's men's basketball schedule released on Thursday by conference officials.
The Horned Frogs, who return four out of their five starters from a year ago, including all-conference honoree Kyan Anderson, will have 15 of their 18 league contests broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, while three others will be made available on FOX networks. The squad will play 16 league games against teams that advanced to the postseason last season, including eight in Fort Worth.
In addition, five of the nine home contests will also fall on a Saturday at the Frogs' temporary home for 2014-15, Wilkerson-Greines Athletic Center, including their conference-opener with West Virginia set for Jan. 3 on FOX Regional. TCU's Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is currently undergoing a $59 million dollar renovation and will be open for the start of the 2015-16 season.
The Frogs will have eight games, with the potential of 10, nationally broadcast on either ESPN2 or ESPNU, which includes their Jan. 10 home contest against Baylor set to be shown on ESPN2. TCU will also play reining Big 12 champion Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse on ESPN2 Saturday, Feb. 21.
ESPNU contests include the Frogs' home tilt with Texas at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 19, while the Purple and White will also take on Kansas (Jan. 28; 8 p.m. CT) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 14; 5 p.m. CT) in Fort Worth. Road games on ESPNU include Iowa State (Jan. 31; 1 p.m. CT), Oklahoma (Feb. 28; 1 p.m. CT) and at Oklahoma State on Wednesday, March 4 at 8 p.m. CT.
TCU's road opener against K-State on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. CT will be the first of five games broadcast on ESPNEWS, with the potential of two other road games set to be televised on either ESPNEWS or ESPNU in the Frogs' Jan. 17 trip to Texas Tech and their tilt with West Virginia on Jan. 24 in Morgantown. The Purple and White's contest at Baylor (Feb. 4; 8 p.m. CT), as well as home games versus Oklahoma (Feb. 7) and Iowa State on Saturday, March 7 will also be shown on ESPNEWS.
Other FOX games for the 2014-15 season include Wednesday home showdowns against Kansas State on Feb. 18 and a tilt with Texas Tech a week later on Feb. 25. Finally, TCU's road contest at Texas on Wednesday, Feb. 11 will be shown on the Longhorn Network.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship will be held Wednesday through Saturday, March 11-14, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
