Devonte Fields is Officially Transferring to Stephen F. Austin

The preseason Big 12 Player of the Year, Devonte Fields, is officially leaving TCU and transferring to Stephen F. Austin. Fields, who has been separated from the university pending investigation, has now announced he will no longer be a Horned Frog.

According to Devonte Fields' private Twitter account, he will no longer be a student-athlete at Texas Christian University and is transferring to Stephen F. Austin.

Fields tweeted earlier this evening, "Just wanted to say thanks to TCU for the opportunity! Anxious to start a new chapter of life at SFA!!" Travis Brown, from the Fort Worth Star Telegram, has sent out a tweet confirming Fields' statement.

Fields was named the preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year earlier this off season, but has recently been separated from the university pending investigation. He was arrested for allegedly threatening and hitting his ex-girlfriend with a gun. Fields pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge and was released on bail July 24th.

Even though Fields return to TCU seemed slim, the announcement and transfer of this extremely talented athlete is a shock to the Horned Frog nation.
