It's been an interesting week here on Frogs O' War, as we've known for some time that coach Patterson and coach Kill of Minnesota are quite good friends- and we've spent the week finding out that our foes for the week over at The Daily Gopher are our long lost best blog buds. We've exchanged Q&As, visited each other's blogs, hated Wisconsin and even engaged in the ceremonial trading of My Little Pony gifs, and they've dug their way into our hearts like the Gophers they are- to the point where I'm sure that after today most of us will be hoping for a Gopher run for the Big Ten title.
After today, that is.
Because now it's game day, and as much as we may enjoy the company of the men in Maroon, TCU needs to win this game for a variety of reasons- for a bit of national respect, to keep up with the Joneses in the Big 12 bowl pecking order, but most importantly, to build confidence on the offensive side of the ball that, unlike last year, they will not be a burden that the defense has to try to carry to a Big 12 championship. This is a big one, as for the first time the new TCU offense is going against a defense that will fight back, and I'm hoping to come out of this game just as impressed as I was in the first contest, even if the score isn't as lopsided. On the defensive side of the ball, as nice as the Gopher's fanbase is, their running offense is nasty and they will run and run and run until our defense is ground into paste if our offense can't keep them off the field from time to time. This is going to be a really interesting game, and I'm looking forward to it. When the game is over and the emotions have begun to ebb, we can go back to being best buds. In the meantime...
This is your gamethread to discuss the action live with the FoW crew. Be nice to the Minnesotans here, because hopefully our football team won't be so nice to them.
