TCU's Trevone Boykin Receives National Player of the Week Award

TCU's polarizing quarterback received the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week, after his performance against SMU.

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has been named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week.

Boykin totaled 342 yards of offense and six touchdowns in the 25th-ranked Horned Frogs' 56-0 win at SMU.

Boykin completed 23-of-36 passes for 280 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran for 62 yards on seven carries, including two touchdowns.

A junior from Dallas, Boykin opened the game’s scoring with a 27-yard touchdown run on TCU’s second snap of the game. He recorded the third game in his career with four touchdown passes.

Boykin is one of just eight quarterbacks nationally to lead his team in passing yards (858) and rushing yards (183).
TCU hosts No. 3 Oklahoma on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

For the season, Boykin has accumulated 1,041 total yards and 11 touchdowns, while only throwing one interception.
