It's been a long time coming, but the Frogs had finally put together their first ever road win in Big 12 play, with a 20 point shellacking of Texas Tech. The Frogs defense was tenacious (though a bit foul prone at parts), repeatedly forcing bad shots and holding the Raiders to a miserable 22.9% shooting and 18.8% from the three point line. On the other end, Kyan Anderson took control, scoring a game high 19 points, posted a 3:1 assist:turnover ratio and was always there with a timely drive to the lane in the instances it looked like Tech was going to claw their way back into the game. It was Chris Washburn, however, that really put the game away, as Tech had a 6-0 run and the ball with ten minutes to play when he made a block on the Raiders inside and took it the full length of the court for the emphatic basket to start an 8-0 Frog run that never again looked to be in jeopardy. Special kudos goes to Devonta Abron and Chauncey Collins, who both get the gold star for being perfect at the line.
So this is what a road win feels like! We haven't had many of them since FoW's inception, and this is the first one since 2012, when basketball season was just me talking to myself in gamethreads, so this is going to feel good for a long time to come- and that it came over Tech just makes it that little bit sweeter, doesn't it? Celebration time!
Go Frogs.
