Summary
Houston Baptist's biggest advantage heading into the season will be their experience. The team returns 11 players from a year ago, including four of their top five scorers. Head coach Ron Cottrell is also set to begin his 22nd year with the team. Cottrell will have his work cut out for him this season as the Huskies are looking to improve on their eighth place finish in the Southland Conference.
The Huskies rely on a balanced scoring and rebounding attack. A year ago, the team averaged 72.4 points per game despite having just two players averaging in double-digits. The team also excelled on the glass, averaging 37.9 rebounds per game while holding their opponents to less than 25.
Prediction
TCU 80, Houston Baptist 66
TCU should improve to 2-0 on the year after their first two games. Houston Baptist will likely provide somewhat of a challenge for the Frogs on the boards, but TCU's defense looks to be significantly better than the Huskies' offense.
