Summary
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits were named Champions of the Summit League in the regular season, earning the team a spot in the NIT. The 2015-2016 version of the Jackrabbits looks to be just as lethal as the 2014-2015 version. SDSU returns a huge chunk of their scoring from last season including a trio of guards in Deondre Parks, George Marshall, and Jake Bittle that combined to score nearly 40 points per game.
Head coach Scott Nagy returns for his 22nd season in Brookings, engineering a fast-paced offense that finished in the top quarter in the country in both scoring and field goal percentage last season. The addition of four freshmen that all averaged near 20 points per game in high school could make the Jackrabbits' offense even more lethal.
Prediction
TCU 73, South Dakota State 70
South Dakota State presents the first formidable opponent for the Frogs this season. Pressure will be on the TCU defense to keep the high-flying Jackrabbits in check. If the TCU offense can score with some regularity, the Frogs should emerge with their second straight 3-0 start to the season.
