A four star prospect, defensive end Mat Boesen has a chance to make an immediate impact for Gary Patterson's defense, as he will help replenish a defensive line that struggled through injuries in 2015. A 6'4", 245 pounder out of Long Beach CC, Boesen was All League and Defensive Player of the Year in the Central League, logging 57 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, and seven forced fumbles.
Boesen signed with Boise State out of high school, but was dismissed from the team following a rules violation stemming from a November 2014 careless driving charge, in the middle of his redshirt freshman season. Having made a concerted effort to salvage his reputation, Boesen became a highly sought after prospect this summer, ultimately choosing the Frogs over Louisville, Baylor, Missouri, and six other offers.

A January enrollee, Boesen will have two years of eligibility remaining for TCU. Check out his highlights below - he has a little Clay Matthews to him, doesn't he? Or maybe it's just the hair.
