Chauncey Collins Out Indefinitely with Quad Injury

The sophomore guard's status is up in the air after suffering a quadriceps injury.

Chauncey Collins is out indefinitely after suffering a non-basketball related quadriceps injury late this week. A timetable for his return has not been announced. Collins played 27 minutes against SMU on Wednesday and was on the floor for the final minutes of the game. On the season, he is averaging 9.3 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game. He is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by Michael Williams.

Collins is the third Frog to miss playing time this season due to injury. Prior to the start of the year, Kenrich Williams underwent season-ending knee surgery. Chris Washburn is also out after a surgical procedure to repair a broken finger. He is expected to return to action on December 20.

As a result, the Frogs are left with just eight scholarship players for the foreseeable future. After tonight's game against Colgate, TCU will travel to Washington to face the Huskies on December 8. Following that trip, the Frogs will return home for contests against Prairie View A&M on December 11 and Abilene Christian on December 20.

Stay tuned for updates.
