Phogg of War: TCU @ #8 Kansas Gamethread

The Frogs head to Lawrence riding high on the momentum of their first ever back to back Big 12 wins, but it will be a tall order to break KU's 21 game home winning streak

Let's hope for something to yell about.

There is a saying that the Chinese use the same word for "opportunity" as they do for "crisis", and whether that's true or not we are faced with a Crisituinity today as the Frogs head up north into the corn land. The Frogs have plenty to play for, as a win over a top 10 Jayhawk team will not only go a long way to securing a good postseason bid (I'd bet NIT if we win this one and beat Tech), but also become just the third Texan team to ever win in venerable Allen Fieldhouse. The talented Jayhawks also will want this one, though, and will likely come out determined to prove that their escape from Fort Worth was more than just good luck, as well as protect their slim lead over Iowa State for the Big 12 champiionship and, of course, secure a good seed for their own tourney hopes (their tourney is a smidge bigger).

I'm fascinated by this one, as we've traditionally matched up pretty well against the Hawks and the Frogs have been playing their best ball of conference play the last few times out, but Kansas is bigger, stronger, more talented and incredibly well coached. There is a very good reason why Kansas has won so many Big 12 championships in a row- They take care of business at home and don't let one loss turn into two- and coming off a loss to West Virginia in their last outing, that's exactly where they'd find themselves if they can't take care of business against the Frogs. To win, the Frogs will have to keep it close, as a lead of 12+ is simply not going to be made up again- simply weather the early storm and hang tight to attempt to steal it in the end- let's see what happens.

Go Frogs.
