The three star wide receiver is the next member of the #FunkyTown15.

While not the biggest guy in the class, Turpin will certainly make a big impact, wherever he lines up on the field. The 5'9" athlete out of Monroe, LA was a late addition to the class of 2015, committing on January 25th after taking an official visit. Turpin picked the Frogs over Texas Tech and others, and will be an exciting player on the offensive side of the ball for coaches Meacham and Cumbie. Having lined up at receiver, running back, and at quarterback for his high school team, the Neville Tigers, Turpin has a skill set that should allow him to contribute in multiple ways for the Frogs.

Turpin runs a 4.44 40 yard dash and has an innate quickness and excellent cutting ability. He led his high school team to a class 4A state championship last winter, with a virtuosos performance contributing with catches, runs and returns. While Turpin may not see the field as a freshman, don't be surprised if he forces his way in to the lead return man position as CEL focuses on his switch to CB. KaVontae has the kind of quicks that could make a huge difference on special teams.
