TCU Recruiting 2015: Niko Small Inks With Frogs

The safety out of Arlington is an underrated player.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Niko Small embodies his last name fully, standing at only 5-foot-10. But at 187 pounds with 4.41 speed, the safety out of Bowie High School is going to be a forced to be reckoned with on the gridiron. Small held only one other offer from a Power 5 school (Stanford), but had he been a few inches taller the offers would have been streaming in.

The 3-star prospect was dominant in 204, accumulating 128 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 6 INTs, 2 fumble recoveries, 9 pass breakups, 4 kick blocks, and a defensive TD. He was named to the Texas 6-A All State team.

Despite being undersized, Small flys to the ball and is very willing to throw his body to make a tackle. His aggression should play well in TCU's defense, and his ability to defend against the pass will help tremendously against Big 12 offenses.

Check out his highlights below, and welcome to the family!
